Cultural Identity Therapy

As an immigrant, I understand well the grief and loss connected to moving from your home to a foreign country.  Moving to a new country can cause many losses: the loss of family members and friends, loss of a familiar language, food, culture, and traditions.

We will work together to learn how to  balance maintaining your cultural identity while appreciating and incorporating the new customs and traditions of the country we’re learning to call home. 

While it can be extremely difficult to move to a new country as an adult, it’s possible to find comfort in knowing that we can maintain our ties and make new connections. 

The grief and loss you may be experiencing can cause depression and feelings of isolation. Having the support of someone who understands can make all the difference.
